FireFox Overview

So you’re ready to let go of your Internet Explorer? We don’t blame you, and neither the other people that downloaded the software over 200 million times. Before we get to our guide and tips to maximize your usage of Firefox, lets talk about the general benefits that it offers over Microsoft’s Internet Explorer.

If you’re here to download Firefox, like other first-timers, you are just curious to see what the fuss is all about and why all of your friends are urging you to switch over. The major benefits over IE include tabbed browsing, strong security, faster loading, custom skins, master password and more.

Tabbed browsing allows you to browse multiple websites within one browser. Not only does it keeps clutter away from your computer, it also helps your computer run faster by taking up less system resources. You can read more about tabbed browsing other features in our Feature Guide.

Security & Safety
Lets talk about security. Firefox is more secure than Internet Explorer from ground up. Its a fundamentally different type of browser because it is not attached to your operating system. That means that malicious code can’t enter the browser and crawl its way through Windows and wreck havoc with your system.

To make the browser even safer, the developers added several other security features that protect you from anything that might need blocking, and that includes potential malicious codes and annoying pop-ups that can be more than just ads. But don’t be alarmed by Firefox’s protective nature, it won’t get in the way of your web browsing. Whenever something is blocked, you’re notified and given an option to see what got blocked and even allow it to be shown in the future.

So here is your chance to try FireFox.  It is free  and you can keep IE until you are sure.  I have been using Firefox for two years now and would not give it up but I do keep IE on the computer.  Click the button to the right and give it a shot.
