Robert Imoto, President

HPD
37 1/2 years of service in the Patrol, Traffic, and Training Divisions, Informational Resources Section, Maka`i Video Productions, Community Affairs Section, and Office of the Chief of Police. Retired as a Captain in 2009.

HPRA
First elected as an HPRA Director in 1990. Has chaired the Ways & Means and Publicity Committees, been a member of the Insurance and Elections Committees, and served as Vice President for two terms. Currently HPRA President.

Robert Cravalho, Vice-President

HPD

Robert retired from the Honolulu Police Department on November 1, 2012 after serving for 29 years. During his career, he was assigned to the various patrol districts on the island and served as a detective in CID. After being promoted to the rank of lieutenant in 2004, he was assigned to the Communications Division, Professional Standards Office, and the Community Affairs Division.

Education

Robert graduated from St. Louis School in 1978 and earned his BS in Criminal Justice from Wayland Baptist University in 2000. He has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Hawaii at Mano`a and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.

Personal Information

Robert is currently employed by the National Football League as their Security Representative for the State of Hawaii. He is also an active Toastmaster and serves District 49 (Hawaii) as a Past District Governor.  Robert is a member of the HPD’s X-Solo Motorcycle Club and enjoys riding his Harley Davidson Road King with the group.



Glen K. Luecke, Secretary

HPD
16 years of service. District 1 Patrol, bike detail, community policing, Asian Development Bank, Emergency Management Command, Chief's Office, Community Affairs Division, currently assigned to the Human Resources Division.

Personal Information
I enjoy spending time with my kids, reading a good book, or watching a good movie.  I've also started taking college classes and hope that I'm inspired to pursue a four-year degree.
For the past three years I've partnered with families from Kalakaua Homes to coordinate monthly "Keiki Crew Clean Ups."  The keiki in our group select an area in their community that needs some extra attention, and we all pitch in to spruce it up.  We hope to inspire the keiki to take pride in their community and pride in themselves.



Gary Takata, Treasurer

Thirty-nine years in the accounting profession. Staff accountant 1968-1970; senior accountant 1970-1975; audit manager 1976-1981 (Ishimoto, Imamoto & CPA, Inc.); partner with Fujioka, Tsuchiyama, Wakazuru and Matsushita CPA’s 1981-1983; self-employed C.P.A. 1983-1991; partner with Ishimoto, Imamoto & Company CPA’s, Inc. 1991-2000; owner Ishimoto, Imamoto & Co CPA’s, Inc. 2000-2001; member-manager with G.K. Takata & Associates CPA LLP 2001 to present.

Education
Hilo High School in 1963; AA Honolulu Business College in 1968; BBA (Accounting) University of Hawaii in 1970.

Personal Information / Hobbies
Married (wife) Joyce; sons Sean and Glenn. / Golf, collecting still cameras, and photography.


William Clark

HPD
Served with the HPD for 34 years, retiring as Deputy Chief in 1999. Prior to his appointment as Deputy Chief, Bill held the positions of assistant chief of field operations, commander of the Kalihi District and the Training Division. He also served as the executive officer of the Human Resources Division and the Information Technology Division(the former Research and Development Division) and, in 1985, served as the executive assistant to the Chief of Police.

In 1993, Bill was named as the City and County of Honolulu’s City Manager of the Year for his pioneering efforts in community policing. He is also credited with initiating the Honolulu Police Department’s Citizens Police Academy program.

Education
Graduated from Chaminade University of Honolulu with a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Business Administration. Serves as graduate faculty at Chaminade University and is an adjunct professor at Leeward Community College and the University of Hawaii-West Oahu teaching business administration.

Personal Information
Bill lives in Aiea along with his wife Joanne. They have a blended family of seven children and are proud grandparents of eight grandchildren. He continues his service to the community as 
chair of the Aiea Neighborhood Board, is on the Board of Directors of CrimeStoppers Hawaii and is a volunteer for HPD’s Training Division, and a volunteer for Hawaii’s Meals on Wheels.

Other interesting information
Bill believes it is an honor to serve on the Board of Directors of HPRA because it keeps him in touch with the people in the Department and allows him to help serve all the employees of the Department—the Department that has meant so much to him and given so much to the community

James "Kimo" Smith

HPD

28 years of service currently as the (D4) Windward- Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) Sergeant. Prior assignments: Alapai Receiving Desk; Central and Regional Patrol; Field Training Ofcr. (FTO); Mayor Wright’s Housing, Chinatown Task Force & Federal Weed and Seed Drug Enforcement Program, (D1) Chinatown CRU, and (D4) Windward Patrol Sergeant.

Education

Kamehameha High School- Class of 1980; Honolulu Community College– Associate of Criminal Justice 1988; Certifications: Drug/Gang/Bomb/Riot/Critical Incident/Peer Support - Investigator/Instructor/Counselor ; Government Notary; UH –CLEAR Labor Management; Harvard- Union Leadership; NAUI - Scuba Diver II.

Personal Information

Married with two adult children. Hobbies include skin & scuba diving, camping, fishing, and travelling. Member/contributor to the Cousteau Society, Sierra Club, and the Grateful Hearts Endowment Campaign of Hawaii.

Other Interesting Information

Firm believer and practitioner of the “Street Survival” mentality for law enforcement officers. A union official for over 26 years with (SHOPO) State of Hawaii Organization of Police Officers, State Treasurer the last 8 years. Follower of the State Retirement System, Employee Union Trust Fund, and Deferred Compensation programs.

Michael Tamashiro

HPD
Retired from HPD in December 2009 with almost 35 years of service. Prior to serving as Assistant Chief of the Regional Patrol Bureau, assignments also included patrol (Honolulu, East Honolulu, Wahiawa/North Shore, Waikiki, and Kapolei/Waianae), Internal Affairs, Training Division, and Human Resources Division. Served as Division Commander for the Training Division and the Kapolei/Waianae Patrol District.

EDUCATION
Graduate of Kaimuki High School and the University of Hawaii (B.A. Sociology). Also a graduate of the FBI's National Academy 189th Session and Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government.

PERSONAL

Married to Vivien, two adult children, son Keoni and daughter Kanani (Jarrett) and two grandsons, Lono and Kahi. My retired life so far does not include being a couch potato, or a computer/IPad fanatic. I enjoy doing something physical, including working out daily at 24Hour Fitness, free diving, body surfing, bicycling, jogging, golfing, and tending to the ever  iscellaneous household/yard chores and maintenance. 

HPRA

At the urging of then Sergeant Robert Imoto, I began serving as an HPRA Director in 1991. Over the years, served as Chair of various committees and five terms each as President and Vice-President. Currently and constantly seeking more volunteers to serve as Directors. It provides me personal satisfaction knowing that all the Directors strive to serve our members to the best of our ability.

Sean Naito

HPD

Sean has 23 years of service and is currently a major assigned to the District 1 (Central Honolulu) patrol division. His previous assignments have included the Criminal Intelligence Unit, Criminal Investigation Division, Training Division, Narcotics/Vice Division, and District 6 and 8 patrol divisions.



EDUCATION

Sean is a graduate of Aiea High School and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Wayland Baptist University. He also serves as an adjunct professor at Honolulu Community College teaching Administration of Justice courses.

PERSONAL

Sean lives in Waikele with his wife Sheryl. They have been married for 19 years and have two sons and a daughter.


Bradon Ogata
Bradon Ogata

HPD

12 years of service in the Central Receiving Division, Training Division, Office of Accreditation, District 1 patrol and the Human Resources Division. I am currently assigned to the Major Events Division Special Duty Section.

Other Information- I enjoy work but equally enjoy time with family and friends. I also appreciate any opportunity to help others. HPRA has supported our officers and their families for many years and I hope to be part of that continued effort.
